The Cape of Good Hope at the southernmost tip of the Cape Peninsula offers some great views and interesting animal life. Baboons habitate there, and in the ocean there are whales and penguins.

Stellenbosch is the second oldest of the cities founded by Europeans in South Africa. It is located in the country's most famous wine district, just 40 minutes drive from Cape Town. I went there on a day trip.

Johannesburg is the largest city in the country. The crime has risen over the last years, and visitors are advised not to walk alone in the center of the city - not even in daylight. When I was there, I also visited Soweto.

Sun City is a South African version of Las Vegas, completed in 1992. The holiday resort is situated a two hours drive from Johannesburg (if you know the way - you definitely cannot navigate by the road signs).

Pilanesberg National Park is located right next to the Sun City complex, and here it is possible to see lions, leopards, elephants, buffalos and rhinos.
