I visited the Spanish capital, Madrid, and the nearby city of Toledo at the end of August.
Madrid is a relatively young city, but is today, with over 3 million inhabitants, one of the largest cities in Europe.
Toledo was once the imperial capital of Spain, and is still the ecclesiastical heart of the country. It is only a 30 minutes train ride from Madrid.
Together with 3 friends from Norway, I had a one week vacation in Gran Canaria, off the coast of West Africa, in August, 2002.
We hired a car and drove to the Roque Nublo mountain in the center of the island.
At the end of February 2002, I went to Barcelona on a conference, and visited the nearby Montserrat mountains.
On the 24th of February I spent almost a full day at the Montserrat mountain not far from Barcelona, Spain.
I was in Barcelona a few days at the end of February, 2001.
Barcelona is the capital and the most populous city of Catalonia and the second largest city in Spain.
