2011 – Valley of Mexico
The Valley of Mexico is a highlands plateau of around 2200 meter in central Mexico. The valley has been inhabited for at least 12,000 years. Mexico City is today one of the largest metropolitan areas in the world.
Mexico City metropolitan area has over 20 million inhabitants, and the smog that goes with that.

2011 – Hudson Highlands, New York, USA
The Hudson Highlands are mountains on both sides of the Hudson River in the state of New York.
Bull Hill, also known as Mount Taurus, is a perfect place for a day trip from New York City. It is located near Cold Spring, about an hour train ride from the big city.

2011 – Pennsylvania, USA
Pennsylvania is just a short bus or train ride from NYC, so a good place for a weekend trip.
Philadelphia is the largest city in Pennsylvania, and the second largest city on the US east coast. It is known as the birthplace of the USA, as the Declaration of Independence was signed here.

Eastern State Penitentiary was based on the principles of reform rather than punishment. When the building was erected in 1829 it was the largest and most expensive public structure ever constructed in the United States. The prison was a big tourist attraction, and bacame a prototype for more than 300 prisons worldwide.

Lancaster was the capital of the United States for one day, September 27, 1777. The Second Continental Congress met here while fleeing the British who had captured Philadelphia.

2011 – Caribbean
I went on a one week cruise onboard the largest cruise ship in the world, the Allure of the Seas, in February, 2011. We sailed the Caribbean, and made stops in the Bahamas, Puerto Rico, Sint Maarten and the Virgin Islands.
The cruise ship made a stop in Nassau in the Bahamas. The Bahamas is the third richest country in the Americas, after USA and Canada.

2010 – Mexico
I went to Mexico twice in 2010, once to the east coast and once to the west coast.
Tulum was one of the last cities inhabited and built by the Mayans, and is today one of the best-preserved Maya sites on the Yucatán Peninsula.

In August, I rented a car and drove to Canada on holiday.
Quebec City is one of the oldest cities in the Americas, and the only remaining fortified city walls that still exist in the Americas north of Mexico.

2009 – Mexico
I went on a cruise from LA to Mexico in October, 2009. We stopped in Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas.
