I went on a one week cruise in the Southern Caribbean from San Juan, Puerto Rico. The cruise ship Celebrity Summit visited Grenada, Barbados, Dominica and Saint Barthélemy.
2011 – Caribbean
I went on a one week cruise onboard the largest cruise ship in the world, the Allure of the Seas, in February, 2011. We sailed the Caribbean, and made stops in the Bahamas, Puerto Rico, Sint Maarten and the Virgin Islands.
The cruise ship made a stop in Nassau in the Bahamas. The Bahamas is the third richest country in the Americas, after USA and Canada.

I visited the island Tortola in the British Virgin Islands, where I swam with dolphins.

We stopped in Philipsburg, Sint Maarten, and from there I went to Maho Beach, which is next to an international airport.

2009 – Caribbean
After a one week cruise on Freedom of the Seas, I travelled to Jamaica, Cuba and Dominican Republic.
Together with two friends, I went on a one week cruise on Freedom of the Seas, currently the largest cruise ship in the world.

The cruise ship stopped at Royal Caribbean's private beach resort, Labadee, in a fenced off area in Haiti. I also ventured into Cap-Haïtien, the second largest city the country.

I stayed a few days in Kingston, the capital of Jamaica, and one of the murder capitals of the world.

I was 4 days in Cuba's capital, Havana. Once a beautiful city, decades of communism and embargo have left much of it looking like a war zone.

My last stop on this Caribbean vacation was the capital of the Dominican Republic, Santo Domingo. This city was one of the first European settlements in the New World.

2005 – Puerto Rico
We had an extended weekend in Puerto Rico in early August. We stayed in the capital, San Juan, and visited the Bacardi distillery outside the city.
Just outside San Juan is Casa Bacardi, the largest rum distillery in the world.
